We are looking for an experienced Vessel Operator for one of our global shipping clients. This role offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, global environment where precision, communication, and strategic thinking are essential.

Responsibilities:

• Voyage Optimization: Attentive review and interpretation of charter party terms to develop and implement optimal voyage plans.
• Operational Excellence: Efficiently coordinate voyage logistics, liaising with the Master, agents, chartering desk, and bunker suppliers to ensure smooth operations.
• Compliance and Safety: Prepare and ensure strict compliance with voyage orders, prioritizing the safety and efficiency of all voyages while adhering to Charter Party warranties.
• Cost Management: Appoint agents, negotiate and approve port pro-forma disbursements and third-party invoices, and plan, purchase, monitor, and coordinate bunker deliveries in a cost-effective manner to minimize voyage operating costs.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Maintain exceptional service levels by fostering strong relationships with our agency network, brokers, agents, and stevedores, ensuring clear and effective communication.
• Digital Proficiency: Utilize and update IMOS (or other integrated data systems) and follow internal procedures to ensure accurate data management and streamlined workflows.
• Sustainability Focus: Integrate sustainable practices into voyage planning, considering fuel efficiency and environmental regulations.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve processes and efficiency, staying abreast of industry best practices and technological advancements.
• Insurance Handling: Liaise with the Insurance Department on claims, incidents (hazardous situations, accidents), P & I matters, and vessel deviations (International Navigation Limits, war zones).

Qualifications:

• Maritime studies or equivalent.
• Experience as a ship officer or at least 3-5 years in a similar maritime operational role.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and effectively under pressure
• Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet tight deadlines.
