Job Description
Position Summary
This role leading the Procurement Activities of Category – Cables in APAC
Objectives of the position:
To build a strong supply network in the region and to optimize the overall spend, reduce costs and mitigate supply risks for the cable category within their region, while also driving innovation and ensuring a reliable supply chain.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning and Analysis:
· Develop and implement regional category strategies:
This includes identifying opportunities for growth, developing product assortments, and setting procurement strategies.
· Conduct market research and competitive analysis:
Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging technologies.
· Develop and manage category budgets and forecasts:
Ensure the category is profitable and achieves its sales targets.
Vendor Management and Sourcing:
· Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers: Negotiate favorable terms and conditions, ensuring a reliable supply chain.
· Evaluate and select suppliers: Ensure suppliers meet quality, cost, and delivery requirements.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams: Work with marketing, sales, operations, and other departments to achieve business objectives.
· Stay up-to-date with industry standards and regulations: Ensure compliance with relevant guidelines and best practices.
· Manage and develop a team (if applicable): Motivate and coach team members to achieve their goals.
· Travel as needed for supplier visits, industry events, or customer meetings.
Skills & Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain or related field and 15+ years of procurement experience in a corporate environment
- At least 5 years of direct leadership experience in global or multi-cultural environment.
- Ability to travel (air and ground throughout the region) for various meetings
- Similar experience or project management skills
- Intermediate Business Process Knowledge
- 2+ minimum years of procurement experience as a category manager or similar role
- Create comprehensive sourcing strategy for the region for spend categories in scope of responsibility, operating with a truly regional and strategic mindset and in close collaboration with the Regional and Global Category Leaders to ensure full alignment with regional and global strategies
- Have a clear understanding of how regional strategies affect their local market and the fit with global strategy
- Very good knowledge of Microsoft Office/Business Software required.
Working hours:
Mon to Fri 8.30am - 5.30pm
