About Metta Day Rehabilitation Centre for the Elderly
Metta Day Rehabilitation Centre for the Elderly (慈光乐龄日间康复中心) was established in June 1998 to provide rehabilitative care for individuals with physical impairments due to stroke, Parkinson’s disease, or other conditions.
With a maximum capacity of 75 clients from diverse backgrounds, our centre is dedicated to maximizing our clients’ independence while providing respite for their families and caregivers. We achieve this by offering a comprehensive range of rehabilitative and social support services under one roof.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Therapy and Client Care
- Assist clients in carrying out physiotherapy and occupational therapy care plans as prescribed by therapists.
- Support clients in lifting, transferring, and mobility when required.
- Ensure safe and proper use of rehabilitative equipment according to centre guidelines.
- Maintain a safe environment for all therapy sessions.
- Accompany clients during centre transport or outdoor activities, ensuring their safety.
- Assist with transport scheduling and arrangements for clients.
2. Administration and Operations
- Ensure accurate documentation for all prescribed therapy sessions completed by clients.
- Coordinate transport routes and ensure vehicle safety through regular servicing.
- Support the reporting officer in day-to-day centre operations.
- Lead the referral acceptance and initial assessment process for new clients.
- Coordinate monthly food-ration service for medical care clients (collection, packing, delivery).
- Oversee centre cleanliness, maintenance of garden, and manage cleaning/pest-control contractors.
- Supervise the locum general worker and assist during NEA audits.
- Manage centre logistics, CSR events with corporate partners, and volunteering activities with schools.
3. Others
- Support planned and ad-hoc fundraising activities.
- Coordinate onboarding of new staff, guiding them on centre guidelines and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the reporting officer.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years relevant experience.
- Secondary school education/WSQ/NITEC in Therapy Services or related.
- Bilingual in English and dialects to communicate effectively with elderly clients.
- Comfortable working with elderly clients requiring therapy in the centre.
