Our client, is an established accounting firm that is part of an international network of independent accounting and consulting firms. They are seeking an Internal Audit Manager who will be responsible for leading and executing risk-based internal audits to evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls, governance processes, and risk management frameworks. This role provides independent and objective assurance to senior management and the Board, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and organisational policies.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform continuous monitoring of compliance and independence requirements in accordance with ACRA’s Code of Ethics and internal firm policies.
• Oversee the annual compliance declaration process, including confirmations, documentation, and tracking of regulatory obligations.
• Assess potential compliance risks, recommend mitigation strategies, and stay informed of updates to regulatory and professional standards.
• Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of the System of Quality Management (SoQM) in compliance with SSQM 1 requirements.
• Establish, review, and enhance SoQM controls, policies, monitoring activities, and remediation procedures.
• Strengthen the firm’s overall compliance, risk management, and audit quality frameworks through continuous improvement initiatives.
• Provide technical support and advisory on audit methodology, professional standards, and quality control matters.
• Evaluate findings from internal reviews and inspections, recommend corrective measures, and enhance audit processes, tools, and best practices.
• Supervise and mentor internal audit executives or associates.
• Review audit workpapers and ensure audit quality standards are maintained.

Requirements

• Degree in Accountancy, Finance, Business, or related discipline.
• Professional certification such as CIA, CPA, ACCA, or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in audit, compliance, or technical accounting.
• Strong knowledge of auditing standards, regulatory compliance requirements, and quality control frameworks.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills with the ability to train and guide audit teams.
