Finance Manager (Shipping Industry Experience is a Must)

Our maritime client is seeking a hands on Finance Manager to oversee the finance function and partner closely with management in Singapore. Only candidates from a maritime background will be considered.

Key Responsibilities

• Take full ownership of the finance function, from bookkeeping to statutory reporting, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Lead the preparation of monthly management accounts, financial statements, and reconciliations, providing timely insights to management.
• Oversee accounts payable/receivable cycles, ensuring strong internal controls and efficient processes.
• Partner with operational teams to track and reconcile project-and client-related costs, ensuring settlements are handled accurately.
• Manage working capital and cash flow, including monitoring client funding, reimbursements, and treasury activities.
• Handle annual audits, tax submissions, and regulatory filings, liaising with auditors and authorities as required.
• Strengthen processes and systems.

Key Requirements

• Degree in Accounting with professional certification (CA/CPA/ACCA or equivalent preferred).
• Minimum 3 years of experience. Proven experience in the shipping/maritime industry is a must.
• Strong full sets accounting exposure.
• Sound knowledge of accounting standards, tax, and compliance requirements.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Hands-on, adaptable, and detail-oriented, with a track record of process improvements.
