Job Description

  • Electrical Supervisor/Foreman Responsibilities:
  • Designing and implementing work schedules for the electrical staff.
  • Inspecting and assessing the work done by the electrical staff.
  • Reading and interpreting design schematics to ensure the proper installation of electrical systems.
  • Troubleshooting major system failures and equipment malfunctions.
  • Repairing and maintaining electrical equipment.
  • Overseeing the purchasing and maintenance of the electrical equipment on-site.
  • Ensuring the work is completed on schedule and to code.
  • Consulting with builders, architects, and other workers on-site.
  • Ensure work progress meets schedule; identify delays / bottlenecks and escalate appropriately.
  • Track progress of work vs schedule. Spot delays or problems and escalate or act. Report to project managers / engineers on site status, issues, resource usage.
  • Facilitate or lead testing, commissioning of electrical systems and equipment. Ensure they meet requirements.
  • Monitor expenditures / usage of materials so project stays within budget.
  • Plan and schedule construction activities – including sequences, workforce, material deliveries.
  • Ensure that tools and equipment are maintained, calibrated, safe to use. Conduct meetings / toolbox talks for safety and work planning.
  • Ensure work meets project specifications, standards, and drawings. They perform or oversee regular checks.
  • Identify and address issues that arise (technical, manpower, safety, supply). Foreman often needs to decide on immediate corrective actions.
  • Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, other trades to resolve interface or coordination problems.
  • Enforce compliance with building codes and regulatory requirements.
  • Enforce safety protocols, ensure site safe for workers. Monitor that operations are compliant with Singapore’s Workplace Safety & Health (WSH) regulations.
  • Maintain housekeeping, safe equipment usage, manage any hazards.

Requirements:

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in electrical/Mechanical engineering or a similar field.
  • Proven work experience as an electrical supervisor.
  • Strong leadership and managerial skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of commercial and industrial electrical systems.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills.
  • Good knowledge of electrical standards / building codes, safety legislation.
  • Leadership, communication, coordination & problem-solving skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • 6 Days work.
  • Able to support on the weekend/ public holidays based on the work requirements.
  • Entitled for over time.
