Working Arrangement:
This is a results-oriented business development role. The employee is expected to plan work flexibly based on client visits, business meetings, trade exhibitions, supply chain coordination, and project execution needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop B2B wholesale trade customers in Singapore and overseas markets, with a focus on importers, distributors, wholesalers, and trading companies.
- Understand customer needs and work with the company’s China supply chain resources to match suitable agricultural products and food & beverage products to business opportunities.
- Manage the full sales cycle, including customer acquisition, business discussions, sample arrangements, quotation and price negotiation, order follow-up, and collection coordination.
- Coordinate with suppliers, customers, and third-party service providers to support import/export operations, logistics, customs clearance, compliance matters, and delivery execution.
- Monitor market trends and customer demand, maintain key customer relationships, drive repeat orders, and support the company’s ongoing business expansion.
Requirements:
- Relevant experience in international trade, agricultural products trade, food & beverage trade, B2B sales, or related fields. Candidates with customer resources in Singapore or other overseas markets will have an advantage.
- Familiarity with international trade processes for agricultural products and food & beverage products, including import/export procedures, logistics, customs clearance, trade documentation, payment terms, and basic compliance requirements.
- Proven experience in customer development and deal closing, with strong capabilities in business development, negotiation, communication, and order execution.
- Ability to work independently and coordinate effectively with suppliers, customers, and third-party service providers to drive project execution, with a sound understanding of pricing, gross margin, collections, and trade risks.
- Good command of English for business communication. Mandarin communication ability is preferred in order to liaise effectively with China-based suppliers and business partners.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the trade of fruits and vegetables, agricultural products, food ingredients, beverages, snacks, condiments, or related FMCG products.
- Familiarity with food import, distribution, or wholesale networks in Singapore and Southeast Asia, as well as food labelling, testing, market access requirements, food safety, and related compliance matters.
- A proven track record from customer acquisition to repeat orders, as well as practical experience in handling customer complaints, quality issues, delivery exceptions, or trade coordination matters.
Compensation and Benefits:
Compensation is negotiable and will be determined based on the candidate’s experience, customer network, track record, and overall fit for the role.
A competitive package comprising fixed salary, sales commission, and performance incentives will be offered.
Annual leave, public holidays, sick leave, and other benefits will be provided in accordance with the employment contract and company policy.
For outstanding candidates, a more competitive long-term incentive arrangement may be discussed.
