Job Description

About the Role

We are looking for a highly skilled Boiler Automation Engineer with strong experience in boiler control systems, instrumentation, and automation for marine, LNG, and industrial boilers. The ideal candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting, calibration, and commissioning of automation systems used in boiler operations and controls.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Perform installation, inspection, calibration, and commissioning of boiler automation and control systems (including burners, sensors, transmitters, and control panels).
  • Troubleshoot and repair boiler automation faults, including PLC, DCS, and control loop issues.
  • Configure, test, and maintain instrumentation and control devices such as pressure, level, temperature, and flow instruments.
  • Carry out preventive maintenance, tuning, and performance optimization of automation systems.
  • Work closely with the mechanical and electrical teams during repair, retrofit, and modification works.
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation, calibration records, and service reports.
  • Ensure all automation and instrumentation work complies with marine class, ATEX, and safety standards.
  • Provide technical support during FAT, SAT, and commissioning at shipyards or onboard vessels.
  • Support upgrading and integration of modern automation systems into existing boiler controls.

Requirements:

  • Diploma or Degree in Instrumentation, Electronics, Electrical, or Automation Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in boiler automation and instrumentation, preferably in marine or oil & gas sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of PLC/DCS systems, control logic, and automation sequences.
  • Familiar with Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Yokogawa, or Honeywell control systems.
  • Hands-on experience in commissioning, calibration, and loop checking.
  • Good understanding of boiler operation, safety interlocks, and burner management systems (BMS).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently under pressure.
  • Willingness to travel and work onboard vessels or at site locations when required
