Job Description

We are looking for a responsible, patient and committed Assistant Teacher to join our team.

The successful candidate will primarily support and supervise international students from China during their evening study sessions. The role involves monitoring homework completion, administering vocabulary tests, maintaining study discipline and assisting with general student-related administrative matters.

This position is suitable for someone who enjoys working with children and teenagers and is comfortable communicating in both English and Mandarin.

Key Responsibilities

* Supervise students during evening/night study sessions and maintain a conducive learning environment.

* Monitor and ensure students complete their school homework and assigned academic tasks.

* Check students’ homework and follow up on incomplete assignments.

* Administer regular English vocabulary tests, including conducting, marking and recording results.

* Provide basic academic guidance and assistance to students when required.

* Encourage students to develop good study habits, time management and learning discipline.

* Monitor students’ behaviour and progress during supervised study sessions.

* Maintain records of homework completion, vocabulary test results and other relevant student information.

* Highlight academic or behavioural concerns to the relevant teacher or management for follow-up.

* Assist with the preparation and organisation of worksheets, tests and learning materials.

* Assist with student-related administrative work, filing, data entry and record keeping.

* Support the general day-to-day operations of the student learning environment.

* Perform other ad hoc administrative and operational duties as assigned by management.

Job Requirements

* Minimum GCE O-Level, Diploma or equivalent qualification.

* Good command of both English and Mandarin, as the role requires regular communication with students from China and supporting them in their English learning and schoolwork.

* Patient, responsible and comfortable working with children and teenagers.

* Good communication and interpersonal skills.

* Able to supervise and manage a group of students independently.

* Organised and able to follow up closely on students’ homework and assigned tasks.

* Basic computer literacy and administrative skills.

* Prior experience in tuition, education, student care, enrichment centres, international student services or similar roles will be an advantage.

* Candidates without prior teaching experience may also be considered. Training and guidance will be provided.

* Must be comfortable working during evening hours.

About the Role

This is not a conventional classroom teaching position. The main focus is on student supervision, homework monitoring, vocabulary testing and maintaining a structured study environment.
