Key Responsibilities (Job Scope)

1. AI Model Research & Development

• Design, build, train, and evaluate end-to-end Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and Generative AI models.

• Translate complex business requirements into viable machine learning and statistical modeling tasks.

• Benchmark, optimize, and fine-tune open-source and proprietary models (e.g., LLMs, Computer Vision, NLP frameworks).

2. Cloud AI & MLOps Infrastructure (Huawei Cloud Focus)

• Architect, configure, and maintain scalable cloud AI infrastructure with specialized expertise in Huawei Cloud AI/ML services (e.g., ModelArts, Cloud Container Engine).

• Establish automated MLOps pipelines for model deployment, monitoring, CI/CD, and retraining in production environments across hybrid or cloud setups.

• Ensure data pipelines, feature stores, and high-performance model inference workflows operate efficiently with minimal latency.

3. Cross-Border Collaboration & Technical Communication

• Serve as the technical bridge between local business/product teams and technical teams in China, conducting frequent technical exchanges and project alignment.

• Translate architectural designs, model requirements, and project specifications seamlessly across cross-border engineering teams.

Data Engineering & Governance

• Collaborate with data engineering teams to preprocess, clean, and structure high-volume, structured/unstructured datasets.

• Implement data privacy, security, and governance standards aligned with Singapore’s PDPA, cross-border data transfer regulations, and ethical AI practices.

Job Requirements

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's, Master’s, or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Applied Mathematics, or a related quantitative discipline.

• Proven track record (3+ years) in building, deploying, and maintaining production-grade machine learning and AI systems.

• Practical experience managing and orchestrating cloud environments with hands-on setup in Huawei Cloud infrastructure.

Technical Skills & Qualifications

• Cloud & MLOps: In-depth knowledge of Huawei Cloud architecture and AI ecosystem (ModelArts, Ascend AI tooling, CCE/Kubernetes, OBS storage). Familiarity with other cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) is a plus.

• Programming Languages: Advanced proficiency in Python, with working knowledge of C++, Scala, or R.

• AI/ML Frameworks: Strong experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow, MindSpore, Scikit-Learn, Hugging Face, or LangChain.

• Data Engineering & Querying: Hands-on experience with SQL, Apache Spark, feature stores, and vector databases (e.g., Pinecone, Milvus, Qdrant).

• Generative AI & LLMs: Understanding of fine-tuning techniques (LoRA, QLoRA), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and prompt engineering.

Language & Soft Skills

• Mandarin Proficiency: Professional fluency in Mandarin (written and spoken) to communicate technical requirements, lead design discussions, and collaborate seamlessly with R&D and engineering teams in China.

• Cross-Cultural Teamwork: Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills to work across diverse technical backgrounds and time zones.

• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical, mathematical, and proactive problem-solving mindset to adapt to evolving AI technology stacks.
