Job Summary

You will be responsible for overseeing the organization’s financial records, managing accounting operations, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and supporting strategic financial planning. This role supervises accounting staff and ensures accurate and timely financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including processing accounts payable and maintaining the general ledger to ensure accurate financial data
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to provide reliable insights for business decisions
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies to mitigate financial risks
• Monitor cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting activities to support effective financial management
• Coordinate with internal and external auditors to facilitate thorough audit processes and ensure regulatory adherence
• Reconcile bank statements regularly to maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff to enhance team performance and professional development
• Prepare detailed financial reports and present findings to senior management to inform strategic planning
• Develop and implement internal financial controls to safeguard company assets and improve operational efficiency
• Assist in financial planning and analysis to support business growth and decision-making

Required competencies and certifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Professional certification from local accounting bodies
• Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting or finance roles
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations
• Proficiency in Xero
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills applied to financial data and processes
• Strong leadership and communication skills to manage teams and collaborate with stakeholders
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail in financial reporting and record-keeping
