Job Description
Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) Officer
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain the SHE Management System in accordance with ISO standards and relevant legal requirements.
- Ensure compliance with the Management System and keep regulatory documentation up to date.
- Conduct regular site inspections, compliance audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards and non-conformities.
- Identify workplace hazards and implement appropriate control measures (e.g., engineering and administrative controls).
- Support the development and implementation of Safe Work Procedures (SWPs) and the Permit-to-Work (PTW) system.
- Coordinate with suppliers and contractors on SHE-related matters.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for the SHE Management System.
- Collect and analyse SHE performance data for reporting and continuous improvement.
- Monitor workplace health risks and notify relevant stakeholders of identified hazards.
- Coordinate procurement and distribution of safety equipment and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Support sustainability initiatives to meet global and local regulatory objectives, including Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) requirements.
- Lead safety induction programmes, orientations, toolbox meetings, and safety briefings.
- Promote SHE awareness through campaigns, workshops, and communication materials.
- Provide guidance on SHE non-compliance and unsafe practices.
- Coordinate SHE Committee meetings and inspections.
- Support incident and accident investigations, including reporting and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
- Coordinate emergency response drills and training in accordance with the Emergency Preparedness and Response Plan (EPRP).
- Perform other duties as assigned by the SHE Manager.
Requirements
- Minimum WSQ Specialist Diploma in Workplace Safety & Health.
- Registered Workplace Safety & Health (WSH) Officer is a MUST
- 5 years (Max) of relevant experiences
- Diploma in Engineering or Science.
- Experience in manufacturing or engineering environments will be an advantage.
- Familiarity with ISO 45001:2018 and ISO 14001 standards is preferred.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively across teams.
