Job Description
About the Role
We are seeking a Technical Project Manager (TPM) to lead web development and Content Management System (CMS) projects from conception to launch. In this role, you will bridge the gap between technical engineering teams and non-technical business stakeholders.
You will manage scope, timelines, and budgets while leveraging a full-stack technical understanding to facilitate architectural discussions, write crisp documentation, and translate client requirements into actionable engineering roadmaps.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Management & Delivery
Lead full lifecycle end-to-end web and CMS implementation projects (e.g., headless CMS, WordPress, Drupal, Adobe Experience Manager) using Agile/Scrum or Hybrid methodologies.
Define project scope, deliverables, resource allocation, sprint goals, and milestone schedules.
Manage risks, scope creep, and dependencies while ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
2. Client Management & Stakeholder Communication
Serve as the primary technical point of contact for clients and external partners.
Translate complex technical jargon into clear, value-driven language for client executives and business teams.
Manage client expectations, run status updates, lead steering committee meetings, and navigate change-request approvals smoothly.
3. Full-Stack Technical Collaboration
Collaborate directly with frontend, backend, and DevOps engineers to evaluate architectural choices, estimate task effort, and unblock development challenges.
Speak fluently about full-stack web concepts (HTML/CSS/JavaScript, frontend frameworks like React/Vue, backend APIs/microservices, database structures, and cloud hosting infrastructure).
Validate CMS architecture, content models, and third-party API integrations against business requirements.
4. Technical Documentation & Requirements Scoping
Author detailed technical specifications, user stories, acceptance criteria, and system architecture diagrams.
Produce clean project artifacts including Scope of Work (SOW) documents, workflow flowcharts, API documentation overviews, and client handover guides.
Maintain organized project documentation platforms (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Notion).
Required Qualifications & Skills
Experience: 3+ years of project management experience leading custom web applications or CMS deployment projects, ideally within an agency or consulting environment.
Methodologies: Strong background in Scrum/Agile frameworks (PMP, CSM, or SAFe certifications are a plus).
Technical Literacy: Hands-on or formal background in full-stack web development (e.g., prior experience as a developer, technical analyst, or solutions architect).
CMS Expertise: Experience delivering projects built on headless or traditional CMS platforms (e.g., Contentful, Strapi, WordPress, Drupal, Sanity, or AEM).
Documentation Master: Demonstrated ability to author clear, precise functional specifications, user stories, and technical requirements.
Client Facing: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with proven experience managing external client relationships and conflict resolution.
Tooling: Expertise in project tracking software (Jira, Confluence, Asana, Monday.com, Figma, Miro).
