The API Analyst defines, governs, and optimizes enterprise APIs to support system integration and digital services. They ensure APIs have clear data definitions, consistent standards, and align with business requirements. The API Analyst collaborates with business teams, integration engineers, and platform teams to make sure APIs are reliable, scalable, and reusable throughout the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

1. API Support

·Act as the primary point of contact for API-related functional questions from internal teams.

·Analyze API usage scenarios and help teams understand how to integrate with available APIs.

·Support issue investigation related to API responses, data definitions, and integration behaviour.

·Coordinate with development teams to resolve API-related functional issues.

·Maintain API documentation and usage guidelines.

2. API Development

·Define API data models, input/output structures, and field definitions.

·Work with developers to design APIs that align with enterprise integration standards.

·Review API specifications to ensure consistency across services.

·Support the creation of API documentation and interface specifications.

·Contribute to API lifecycle management, including versioning and enhancement planning.

3. API Operations

·Monitor API usage trends and identify opportunities to improve performance and usability.

·Analyze API consumption patterns across internal systems and external partners.

·Support API governance, including version control and lifecycle management.

·Maintain API catalog and documentation standards.

·Ensure APIs follow enterprise security and compliance policies.

Required Skills / Technical Competencies:

·Strong understanding of RESTful API design principles

·Strong understanding of C# or backend development concepts

·Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills

·Strong Git-based version control systems (GitHub / Azure DevOps)

·Strong relational database development skills.

·Experience with API specifications such as OpenAPI / Swagger

·Knowledge of JSON data structures and API data modeling

·Experience with API management platforms (e.g., Azure API Management)

·Understanding of API security concepts (authentication, authorization, tokens)

·Familiarity with API lifecycle management and versioning strategies

·Familiarity with the any automatic testing tool for verifying the code quality
