Salling Search is hiring a Ship Manager (Ethylene and LPG) for one of the world’s largest gas carrier fleets based in Singapore.

Responsibilities

• Manage the safe and compliant technical operation of five vessels in accordance with IMS procedures and international regulations including SOLAS, MARPOL and STCW under the International Maritime Organization framework.
• Oversee vessel budgets and expenditure control, prepare and monitor OPEX, advise clients on overruns, and ensure timely financial reporting.
• Monitor planned maintenance systems, arrange repairs and breakdown support, procure spares and equipment, and implement preventive measures to improve reliability and reduce recurring issues.
• Plan and execute dry dockings, maintain updated docking specifications, conduct inspections, and ensure vessels remain compliant with Class, Flag State and Oil Major requirements, including vetting and PSC readiness.
• Handle insurance claims when applicable, liaise with underwriters and surveyors, and ensure proper documentation and technical support.
• Coordinate with owners, class, oil majors, suppliers and internal departments to ensure smooth vessel operations.
• Supervise purchasing and technical support staff, appraise shipboard personnel, support safety and compliance matters, and act as backup Ship Manager when required.

Requirements

• Chief Engineer (Motor) Certificate or Degree in Mechanical, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or Naval Architecture.
• 1–3 years’ experience on gas/oil tankers or as Technical/Assistant Superintendent.
• Strong technical, leadership, and project management skills.
• Proactive, results-driven, safety-conscious, and flexible to travel on short notice.
