Summary

Hiring a skilled SharePoint Migration Consultant to lead the upgrade of our current SharePoint 2019 environment to SharePoint Subscription Edition (SE). The role involves assessment, planning, migration execution, testing, and post-migration support. The consultant will work closely with IT teams to ensure a smooth, secure, and efficient transition with minimal downtime.

Responsibilities

Assess current SharePoint 2019 farm, content databases, workflows, and custom solutions.

- Develop a full migration plan, including timelines, risks, and readiness checks.

- Install, configure, and optimize the SharePoint SE environment.

- Perform database-attach migration and validate site collections, features, and service applications.

- Upgrade/adjust custom solutions, scripts, workflows, and branding elements for SE compatibility.

- Support UAT, perform issue resolution, and lead production cut-over.

- Create documentation and handover materials for IT operations teams.

- Provide post-migration support and performance monitoring.

Required Skills & Experience

- 5–10 years of experience with SharePoint On-Prem (2013/2016/2019/SE).

- Strong knowledge of SharePoint farm administration, SQL Server, and PowerShell.

- Experience executing SharePoint version upgrades and database-attach migrations.

- Understanding of service applications (Search, UPA, MMS, Secure Store, BCS).

- Knowledge of authentication (AD/ADFS), certificates, and infrastructure dependencies.

- Experience handling workflows (SharePoint 2010/2013) and migration to modern options.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with SharePoint migration tools (ShareGate, AvePoint, Metalogix).

- Microsoft certifications in SharePoint or M365.

- Familiarity with SPFx, JavaScript customizations, or hybrid environments.
