Senior Pre-Sales Engineer – Structured Cabling &
Connectivity
Location: Singapore (APAC Coverage)
Reporting to: Regional Sales Director / Head of Connectivity
Business Unit: Structured Cabling / Data & Connectivity Solutions
Overview
We are seeking a highly technical Senior Pre-Sales Engineer to support its
Structured Cabling and Connectivity business across Singapore and APAC.
This role will act as the technical authority supporting the commercial team in
enterprise, hyperscale data centre, and infrastructure opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Pre-Sales Support
• Act as the primary technical advisor for structured cabling solutions across
enterprise and data centre customers
• Deliver technical presentations, solution workshops, and product
demonstrations to consultants, contractors, and end users
• Support sales teams in RFP, RFQ and tender responses with detailed technical
documentation
• Conduct technical discovery sessions to understand client infrastructure
requirements
• Translate customer requirements into structured cabling system designs and
bill of materials
Solution Design & Engineering
• Design structured cabling systems (Copper Cat6A/Cat7/Cat8, Fibre OM3/OM4/OM5,
OS1/OS2)
• Provide high-level fibre network topology recommendations for enterprise and
data centre projects
• Support backbone, horizontal and data centre structured cabling layouts
• Recommend containment, patching, termination and connectivity solutions
• Support compliance with international standards (ISO/IEC 11801, TIA/EIA,
ANSI, IEEE)
Client Engagement & Technical Positioning
• Interface with consultants, data centre operators, hyperscalers and system
integrators
• Provide competitive technical analysis and value engineering proposals
• Support technical training sessions for distributors, partners and internal
sales teams
Project & Tender Support
• Review technical specifications and ensure alignment with cable solutions
• Provide compliance statements and technical deviation justifications
• Support pre-bid and post-bid clarification meetings
• Work closely with operations to ensure technical accuracy in project delivery
Market Intelligence
• Provide insights on market trends in structured cabling and data centre
connectivity
• Monitor competitor technologies and product launches
• Support product management with regional technical feedback
Required Qualifications
Experience
• 4-7 years of experience in structured cabling and connectivity solutions
• Proven experience supporting enterprise and data centre projects
• Experience supporting technical tenders and RFP processes
Technical Expertise
• Strong knowledge of copper and fibre structured cabling systems
• Experience with high-density fibre solutions and data centre interconnects
• Familiarity with testing and certification tools (Fluke, OTDR, power meters)
• Deep understanding of structured cabling standards and compliance frameworks
• Exposure to hyperscale data centre architecture preferred
Soft Skills
• Strong presentation and communication skills
• Ability to explain complex technical concepts to commercial audiences
• Confident engaging with consultants, project managers and C-level
stakeholders
• Commercially aware and able to support value-based selling
• Ability to travel within APAC when required
Preferred
• Experience supporting hyperscale or colocation data centre projects
• Existing relationships with regional contractors, consultants and integrators
• Experience conducting CPD sessions and technical seminars
