Job Summary

Our client, a leading player in the aviation energy sector, is seeking a Senior Manager, Legal & Compliance. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with senior management on corporate legal matters, commercial transactions, joint ventures, and enterprise-wide compliance initiatives across the region.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the drafting, reviewing, and negotiation of diverse commercial contracts to support business operations and mitigate legal risks
  • Develop and maintain standard contract templates and legal documentation to streamline internal and subsidiary processes
  • Review legal documents, agreements, and corporate filings to support joint ventures and investment activities, ensuring compliance and strategic alignment
  • Coordinate with external counsel to provide legal support for investment and project-related activities, ensuring timely and compliant documentation
  • Prepare comprehensive legal and compliance reports for the parent company and maintain effective communication with Group Legal & Risk Control functions
  • Manage legal disputes, claims, and litigation by coordinating external legal counsel and providing regular updates to management on case progress
  • Collaborate with the Department Head to enhance legal and compliance frameworks, policies, and processes that uphold corporate governance standards
  • Assist in departmental leadership by guiding team development and fostering a culture of ethics, integrity, and accountability
  • Execute additional duties as assigned by the Department Head to support the department’s strategic objectives

Required competencies and certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law or a related field
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant legal experience, including demonstrated expertise in handling complex M&A transactions involving large state-owned or government-linked enterprises
  • Strong familiarity with PRC regulatory and compliance frameworks to ensure adherence to regional legal requirements
  • Proficient analytical skills to assess complex legal information and deliver sound legal judgments
  • High level of professionalism, ethics, responsibility, and teamwork to maintain corporate standards
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills to manage multiple priorities effectively under pressure
  • Proficiency in English and Mandarin to communicate with stakeholders and review legal documents in both languages, supporting bilingual business operations
