Job Description
We are a ramen-focused restaurant looking for a committed and responsible Senior Cook to join our team.
This role is suitable for someone who takes pride in food preparation, kitchen cleanliness, food safety, and smooth daily operations. Experience in Japanese noodles, Chinese noodles, or ramen restaurants will be an added advantage.
Kitchen Type: Non-halal kitchen
Key Responsibilities
Kitchen Operations
- Assist in daily kitchen operations and food preparation.
- Support ramen, noodle, and other food preparation as required.
- Ensure food is prepared and served according to restaurant standards.
- Assist with dishwashing and general kitchen cleaning.
- Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness at all times.
- Take responsibility for assigned kitchen duties and ensure smooth service flow.
Food Safety & Hygiene
- Ensure all food handling, storage, preparation, and cleaning processes follow proper food safety standards.
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment, workstations, storage areas, and dishwashing areas.
- Support all safety and food safety matters within restaurant operations.
Recipe & Product Development
- Assist in developing new recipes and improving existing menu items.
- Support testing, refinement, and improvement of recipes.
- Assist in creating prototypes for new food products or menu ideas.
- Research food trends, competitors, ingredients, and possible improvements.
- Suggest process improvements to improve food quality, consistency, and efficiency.
Operations Support
- Assist with all restaurant duties when required, including service, cashiering, front operations, back operations, and kitchen duties.
- Support Mandarin communication for Chinese and/or Taiwanese business matters when required.
- Assist with basic administrative, accounting, and corporate tax-related tasks when assigned.
- Carry out any other duties and training as assigned from time to time.
Requirements
- Experience in Japanese noodles, Chinese noodles, or ramen restaurant is a plus.
- Able to work in a non-halal kitchen.
- Must be responsible, disciplined, and willing to learn.
- Must take food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness seriously.
- Able to work in a fast-paced F&B environment.
- Able to support both kitchen and general restaurant operations when required.
- Mandarin communication ability is preferred for handling Chinese/Taiwanese business matters when needed.
