Senior Baker

Join Curlys, our retail and dining space in Dempsey Hill, as our Senior Baker. This is a pivotal role where your expertise will shape our baking programme, elevate product quality, and inspire a team of talented bakers. This role goes beyond managing daily production. You will set standards, ensure consistency, and play a key part in building team culture while contributing to the long-term growth and reputation of one of Dempsey’s most exciting destinations. 

What You’ll Be Doing 

• Run daily baking operations and make sure everything in the kitchen runs smoothly.  

• Ensure all baked goods meet high standards for quality, taste, and consistency, while being commercially viable.  

• Create and maintain recipes, standard procedures, portion sizes, and presentation guidelines.  

• Manage costs, ingredients, and inventory to keep the kitchen efficient and profitable.  

• Monitor production and find ways to improve speed, efficiency, and quality.  

• Source ingredients, manage supplier relationships, and negotiate prices for flour and other bakery supplies.  

• Follow all health, hygiene, and safety regulations in the kitchen.  

• Reduce waste and optimize workflow and processes in the bakery.  

• Train, mentor, and guide junior bakers and kitchen staff.  

• Encourage teamwork, accountability, and a culture of excellence.  

• Regularly taste, audit, and review products to maintain high standards.  

• Conduct performance reviews and organize structured training programs for the team. 

We’re Looking for Someone Who 

• Strong interest in Baking! 

• Has 3–5 years of professional baking experience, preferably with hands-on lamination skill 

• Has experience working in a production kitchen (a strong plus).  

• Balances creativity with operational discipline.  

• Is passionate about mentoring teams and building a strong bakery culture.
