Key Responsibilities:

• Perform SAP system health checks and monitoring of critical components (application servers, database, background jobs, etc.), focusing on proactive issue resolution rather than basic operations.

• Manage complex SAP user authorizations, roles, profiles, and security policies, ensuring compliance with organizational standards.

• Assist in SAP transport management, including coordinating transports across development, quality, and production systems.

• Analyze and troubleshoot system logs, update queues, and spool requests to identify root causes of issues.

• Support backup, restore, and system copy procedures in coordination with senior BASIS team members.

• Participate in kernel updates, patch applications, and upgrades with minimal supervision.

• Collaborate closely with ABAP, Functional, Security, and Infrastructure teams to resolve advanced technical issues.

• Maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations, incidents, resolutions, and authorization designs.

• Candidates with experience limited to L1/L2 support, monitoring, or basic user administration without hands-on involvement in system configuration, upgrades, or security design will not be considered.

Required Skills

• Minimum 1-2 years of SAP BASIS experience with a focus on SAP Security/Technical Authorizations (not just user access).

• Experience in end-to-end SAP system administration in enterprise environments

• In-depth knowledge of SAP authorization concepts, roles, profiles, and user management best practices.

• Strong understanding of SAP system architecture, transport management system (TMS), and client landscape concepts.

• Experience with databases (HANA, Oracle) and operating systems (Linux, Windows) preferred.

• Analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills with ability to handle advanced technical scenarios.

• Strong documentation, teamwork, and communication abilities.

• Prior experience primarily in operations-level tasks is not preferred; focus on strategic/system-level SAP administration.

• Hands-on experience with:

- PFCG (role design & maintenance)

- SU01 / SU10 (user administration at scale)

- Authorization objects & trace analysis (ST01, SU53)

- SAP monitoring tools (Solution Manager, CCMS, etc.)

- Proactive system performance tuning

• Experience handling:

- Audit compliance (e.g., SOX, internal/external audits)

- Segregation of Duties (SoD)

- SAP system installation / migration (nice to have but strong plus)
