Role Overview

The Safety Coordinator supports the Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) department in ensuring a safe and compliant working environment within the biomass power plant. Reporting to the General Manager / EHS Manager, the role assists in implementing workplace safety programs, conducting inspections, maintaining safety documentation, and supporting regulatory compliance in accordance with Singapore’s Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) regulations and fire safety requirements.

The position also supports incident investigations, safety training, emergency preparedness, and coordination with regulatory authorities to maintain high safety standards across plant operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the EHS department in daily safety operations, including workplace inspections, safety documentation, and training activities.
• Prepare and maintain safety documentation such as Method Statements (MS), Safe Work Procedures (SWP), Risk Assessments (RA), and other Safety Management System records.
• Ensure compliance with Singapore Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) regulations and fire safety requirements, including support during internal and external audits.
• Monitor EHS performance indicators, conduct inspections to identify safety or security hazards, and track implementation of corrective actions.
• Assist in managing the Permit-to-Work (PTW) system and support accident, incident, and near-miss investigations.
• Conduct safety induction programs, support EHS/fire safety training, and assist in organizing emergency response exercises, fire drills, and CERT activities.
• Support security-related activities for the facility when required.
• Support regulatory submissions, licensing matters, PPE procurement and distribution, and any other EHS or security-related administrative duties as required by management.

Qualifications Required

•  WSQ Advance Certificate in Workplace Safety and health (Level B) or equivalent field.
• bizSAFE Level 2
• Trained and possess relevant certifications in Work At Heights, Confined Space, Occupational First Aider, Fire Safety Management Certification will be advantageous.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Fresh grads are welcome to apply
• Familiar with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 & BizSAFE standards and audit procedures. Preferably involved in 3rd party audits/Bizsafe audits in previous employments
• Possess Singapore Local Security licence will be advantageous

•  2 years experiences working in Oil and Gas, Biomass, Chemical, Waste management or similar industries.
• Possess positive working attitude and able to work with staff from Contractor/Vendor/Supplier engaged by the company
