Job Description
Purpose: Responsible for supervising and implementing an improvement plan for production. Support engineering teams by drawing up safety protocols, reporting issues to the manager and developing strategies to ensure quality, efficiency and delivery. Manages the production and planning section to optimize the utilization of resources.
Key Area of Responsibilities:
- Monitor production performance, track OEE metrics, and identify areas for improvement.
- Optimize shop floor layout, material flow, and equipment relocation to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance productivity.
- Improve efficiency, reduce cycle times, and enhance product quality through process improvements and automation solutions.
- Lead 8D projects, drive structured problem-solving initiatives, and implement corrective actions to resolve quality issues.
- Track and manage consumable tools and non-capitalized equipment inventory levels, optimize inventory levels, and prevent stockouts.
- Manage suppliers to ensure timely delivery and optimal pricing.
- Ensure safety compliance, conduct regular safety audits, and address operator concerns.
- Provide technical support to operators, resolve issues, and develop clear procedures.
- Design and implement automated workflows, minimize human intervention, and ensure seamless machine operations.
- Identify training needs, develop targeted training programs, and document training processes and outcomes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve complex production issues, drive process improvements, and share knowledge.
- Plan and allocate resources to meet production targets, monitor performance, and identify bottlenecks.
- Lead improvement projects, implement cost-reduction initiatives, and track savings.
- Maintain accurate documentation of process changes, tooling updates, quality improvements, and operator feedback.
Qualification & Experiences:
- Diploma/ Bachelor’s in Engineering (Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical, Precision or Industrial Engineering).
- At least 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing, automation, and process improvement.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes (machining, robotics, polishing, welding)
- Knowledge of automation solutions and digital tools
- Knowledge of OEE metrics and data analysis
- Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations.
- Experience with 8D problem-solving methodology and CAPA implementation
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to lead and participate in improvement projects
- Continuous learning mindset and adaptability to new technologies and processes
- Knowledge of training development and delivery
- Experience with cross-functional collaboration and process improvement initiatives
