Background
You will be collaborating across the executive teams in the DIS (Digital Intelligence Service) and GovTech (ADX) to build a cross functional and capable digital entity across key domains in the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF).
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced, forward-thinking software engineering leader, to lead our technology strategy, innovation agenda, and engineering execution. As a member of the executive leadership team and responsible to the Head of the SAF Digital Ops-Tech Centre (DOTC), the candidate will be instrumental in shaping the organization's future by aligning technology with business goals, scaling digital and artificial intelligence infrastructure, and ensuring robust, secure, and high-performance teams.
You will oversee all aspects of technology development, from product engineering to related IT infrastructure, operations and architecture, while also mentoring and growing a high-performing technical team. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical acumen, a product-oriented mindset, and proven leadership experience scaling platforms in high-growth environments.
This is a unique opportunity to help build a market-leading product and influence strategic decisions at the highest level, working cross-functionally with Product, Marketing, and Operations teams.
Requirements
- Proven experience (10+ years) in senior technology leadership roles, ideally as Engineering Director, or CTO equivalent positions.
- Deep technical expertise across architecture, software development, and cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Track record of scaling technology teams and platforms, especially in high-growth or startup environments.
- Strong product orientation and ability to collaborate closely with product and design teams.
- Experience with modern engineering best practices: CI/CD, DevSecOps, microservices, and agile methodologies.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong security, data governance, and compliance awareness. Experience and knowledge in cybersecurity and secure network infrastructure is a plus.
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
