Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Photonic Chip Design Engineer (芯片设计工程师) to lead the design and optimization of advanced silicon photonic integrated circuits. You will be responsible for photonic device layout, simulation, PDK creation, and tape-out coordination. This role requires strong collaboration with foundries and R&D teams to accelerate the development of high-performance optical components for next-generation communication systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, simulate, and optimize silicon photonic chips, including layout, process definition, and performance modeling.
• Develop photonic device architectures such as GeSi photodetectors, MZIs, VOAs, and waveguide splitters.
• Collaborate with foundries on tape-out execution and fabrication process integration.
• Support experimental testing by analyzing results, refining designs, and validating performance metrics.
• Build and maintain PDKs to streamline the development cycle.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Photonics, Optoelectronics, or Semiconductor Physics (strong Master’s candidates with industry experience considered).
• 5+ years of industrial experience in photonic chip design, layout, and process integration preferred.
• Skilled in simulation tools (e.g., Lumerical, Phoenix) and TCAD platforms (e.g., Sentaurus, Silvaco).
• Proficient in layout design using IPKISS or equivalent photonic EDA tools.
• Deep understanding of CMOS fabrication and photonic tape-out workflows.
• Strong data-driven analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication for cross-functional and external coordination.
