Salling Search is partnering with a leading international dry bulk shipping company to recruit an Operations Claims Manager to join their team.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide in-house guidance on operational and commercial matters arising before, during, and after voyages, including FD&D (Freight, Demurrage & Defence) issues.
• Analyse, interpret, and advise on charterparty clauses and related contracts from both practical and legal perspectives.
• Assess potential and ongoing disputes, evaluate claim exposure and recovery prospects, and recommend appropriate resolution strategies.
• Manage and pursue outstanding balances such as unpaid hire, freight, and demurrage to safeguard company interests.
• Review and advise on Bills of Lading, Letters of Indemnity (LOIs), and other voyage-related shipping documents.
• Handle voyage-related commercial claims in close coordination with the Legal Department.
• Negotiate claim settlements directly with counterparties and collaborate closely with internal stakeholders.

Key Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in ship operations and/or maritime claims (a law degree is preferred but not required).
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a structured problem-solving mindset.
• Ability to manage multiple cases efficiently and make sound decisions under pressure.
• Proactive, self-driven, and accountable, with a strong sense of ownership.
• Excellent command of written and spoken English.
• A collaborative team player with the ability to communicate confidently across departments.
