Job Summary

You will report to the R&D Manager and lead the design and preparation of manufacturing drawings for electrical switchboards, driving precision and efficiency in production. Collaborate closely with manufacturing and production teams and vendors to ensure material readiness and optimal product performance.

Responsibilities

• Design and prepare detailed manufacturing drawings of electrical switchboards to meet production specifications
• Assemble modular drawings based on panel design requirements to support manufacturing workflows
• Perform weight, heat loss calculations, and air flow simulations to optimize switchboard design and functionality
• Prepare accurate material order lists for mechanical parts to ensure timely procurement and production continuity
• Liaise effectively with vendors to clarify material enquiries and secure necessary components
• Collaborate closely with Manufacturing and Production teams to align design outputs with operational needs
• Conduct thorough self-checks to ensure accuracy and quality of all technical drawings and calculations
• Adapt quickly to new software applications to enhance design capabilities and productivity
• Perform additional duties as directed by the supervisor to support R&D and production objectives

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Diploma or NITEC in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• Proficient in BIM, VertexG4, and AutoCAD M&E 3D drawing software
• Strong mechanical background with demonstrated skills in 2D and 3D drafting
• Ability to read and interpret manufacturing blueprints and specifications, including identification of materials and sheet metals used in switchboards
• Proficient in 3D software and flat pattern development with strong PC skills
• High attention to detail with proven capability to self-check for accuracy
