Job Description
As an Advanced Engineer within the Advanced Solutions Mechanical (Tooling) Organization, this position is responsible for the development and management of tooling solutions, ensuring smooth and precise handling of materials during the semiconductor bonding process.
Overview:
- Design and qualify application tooling for high‑precision semiconductor assembly equipment to meet customer performance and requirement targets.
- Lead quality assurance and continuous improvement of tooling designs and manufacturing methods.
- Coordinate with suppliers and cross‑functional teams to optimize cost and lead time, ensuring on‑time delivery to customers.
Responsibilities:
- Independently manage assigned tooling requests to completion; escalate issue interfering with completion.
- Design application tooling solutions to run customer applications with optimal performance on K&S’ high precision automated semiconductor assembly (bonding) equipment. Ensure that application tools comply with customer requirements.
- Perform tooling quality checks per quality system requirements
- Maintain and optimize quality assurance system to guarantee application part quality before shipment.
- Research, develop and improve design & manufacturing processes and methods for application tooling.
- Collaborate with suppliers to optimize parts cost and lead-time
- Maintain and enhance design guidelines and selection rules for application tools
- Interface with Supply Chain, Engineering, Marketing, Sales and Field Engineering teams to ensure on time delivery of application tooling to our customers.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor/Master's Degree in Engineering, with Mechanical or Mechatronic concentration preferred
- Typically 3 or more years of experience with a proven record in end-to-end product development of mechanical systems
- 3D CAD design and GD&T knowledge;
- Take ownership and drive projects and issues to closure by strong initiative and persistence
- Effective verbal & written communication skills and a team-oriented nature are essential for the international engineering environment
- Multi-disciplinary skill set – ability to interface with process, mechanical and software engineers
- You are characterized by quality-conscious work execution, despite the at times hectic work environment. A positive attitude and open mindset supports you to work in the high paced semiconductor industry
- Any experience listed below are a plus:
-Familiarity with NX / TeamCenter
-Experience with quality assurance (QA) and quality management systems
-Advanced knowledge of machining processes and material science and coatings
-Experience and/or familiarity with semiconductor manufacturing processes and materials.
