Job Description
Summary
We are one of the global reputable Japanese group companies, manufactures and distributes quality resistors and other essential electronic components to support local and international customers from diverse market segments.
The Managing Director (MD) is responsible for the overall leadership, strategic direction, and performance of Koa Denko (S) Pte Ltd. The role ensures sustainable growth, operational excellence, strong governance, and alignment with the KOA Corporation’s global strategy, values, and compliance requirements.
You will be reporting to Headquarter Executive Director and Executive Officer.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and execute the company’s short-, medium-,and long-term business strategies in alignment with Group objectives.
- Identify growth opportunities, new markets, partnerships, and business expansion initiatives.
- Provide clear leadership and direction to the management team and employees.
Business & Financial Performance
- Full P&L responsibility, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance monitoring.
- Drive revenue growth while ensuring cost efficiency and profitability.
- Ensure robust financial controls, timely reporting, and compliance with statutory and Group requirements.
Operations & Supply Chain
- Oversee daily operations, including sales, inventory control, logistics, quality control, IT and customer service.
- Ensure operational efficiency, quality standards, and on-time delivery to customers.
- Manage relationships with key suppliers, principals, and customers.
Governance, Risk & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all applicable Singapore laws, regulations, and corporate governance standards.
- Oversee risk management, internal controls, and audit matters.
- Act as the key liaison with auditors, regulators, bankers, and legal advisors.
People & Culture
- Build, lead, and develop a high-performing management team.
- Foster a strong corporate culture aligned with Group values, ethics, and compliance.
- Oversee talent development, succession planning, and performance management.
Stakeholder Management
- Represent the company to the Board, Group HQ, customers, partners, and external stakeholders.
- Maintain strong communication and reporting with Group management.
- Enhance the company’s corporate image and reputation in the market.
Key Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Finance, or related discipline.
- Proficient in Japanese language (equivalent JLPT N1 level).
Experience
- Minimum 15 years of relevant experience, with at least 5–8 years in a senior leadership or Managing Director/ General Manager role.
- Proven track record in managing a P&L and leading a medium-sized organization.
- Experience in electronics components, manufacturing, trading, or distribution industries is highly preferred.
