The Warehouse & Distribution Manger (Singapore Replenishment Centre) is responsible for overseeing all daily operations of the warehouse, including inventory management, order fulfillment, shipping & receiving, team supervision, safety compliance, and process optimization. This role ensures efficient, accurate, and safe warehouse operations to meet business production and delivery targets, while controlling costs and improving overall operational productivity.

In this role, a typical day will include:

1. Operations Management

• Plan, organize, and direct daily warehouse activities, including receiving, put away, picking, packing, labeling, and shipping of goods.
• Daily management of the automated ARM and DSL re-packing lines
• Ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment to meet customer and internal requirements.
• Monitor workflow to eliminate bottlenecks and improve operational efficiency.

2. Inventory Control

• Manage accurate inventory records using WMS and SAP system.
• Conduct regular cycle count to maintain inventory accuracy.
• Track stock levels, identify slow-moving or obsolete inventory, and recommend disposal or adjustment plans.
• Ensure proper storage, handling, and rotation of inventory (FIFO/LIFO).

3. Team Leadership & Supervision

• Recruit, train, schedule, motivate, and evaluate warehouse staff including warehouse supervisors, operators.
• Set clear performance goals, conduct performance reviews, and address staffing issues promptly.
• Foster a positive, disciplined, and productive work environment.

4. Health, Safety & Compliance

• Enforce all company safety policies, standards, and warehouse safety procedures.
• Conduct regular safety training, inspections, and risk assessments to prevent accidents, injuries, and property damage.
• Ensure proper use and maintenance of warehouse equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, scanners, etc.).
• Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to warehousing and logistics.

5. Equipment & Facility Maintenance

• Oversee the maintenance and repair of warehouse equipment, tools, and facilities.
• Coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure equipment availability and minimize downtime.
• Ensure the warehouse is clean, organized, and well-maintained at all times.

6. Cost Control & Process Improvement

• Develop and implement cost-saving initiatives for labor, packaging, and logistics.
• Continuously optimize warehouse processes, layouts, and workflows to improve efficiency and reduce errors.
• Prepare and analyze operational reports (productivity, accuracy, costs, KPIs) for management.

7. Communication & Coordination

• Collaborate with S&OP, MTO, Transportation, and other DC teams to align operations.
• Communicate with carriers and third-party logistics (3PL) partners to coordinate shipments.
• Resolve operational issues, delays, and customer complaints in a timely manner.
• Supplier management
• Should have strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Should be competent in analytical skills and deliver analysis on the ongoing operations.
• Lead changes required with respect to legal metrology requirement

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON:

·       Min Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain/ Logistics or related field

·       Min. 8 years of experience in Logistics / Warehouse Management (preferable with experience in GMP environment, either in Medical Devices or Pharmaceutical industry). With minimum 5 years’ people management experience.

·       Project management skill

·       Analytical, and ability to mitigate risk
