What you'll do:

As a Junior Fund Operations Analyst, you will play an integral role in supporting the day-to-day operational activities that underpin successful fund management. Your responsibilities will span trade booking, reconciliation of positions and cash balances, liaising with key external partners such as prime brokers and fund administrators, executing monthly swap resets, tracking corporate actions, and participating in automation projects designed to streamline processes.

• Ensure accurate booking and processing of trades within the order management and portfolio management systems according to established procedures and expectations.
• Perform daily reconciliation of positions and cash balances, identifying discrepancies and collaborating with relevant parties to resolve any issues promptly.
• Liaise effectively with prime brokers and fund administrators regarding cash breaks, position breaks, and other operational matters requiring attention or clarification.
• Execute monthly swap resets diligently while monitoring broker data to ensure consistency and accuracy across all records.
• Track and monitor corporate actions as well as elections, ensuring timely responses and correct implementation within internal systems.
• Participate actively in automation projects aimed at enhancing processes and workflows under the supervision of senior team members.
• Support ongoing process improvement initiatives by providing feedback, assisting with documentation, and helping implement new solutions as directed.
• Collaborate closely with both internal stakeholders such as portfolio managers and compliance teams, as well as external partners including prime brokers and fund administrators.
• Undertake additional duties as assigned by the Senior Operations Manager or other senior staff members to support the smooth functioning of the operations department.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the Junior Fund Operations Analyst position brings proven experience from similar roles within financial services—particularly those involving back or middle office functions for investment funds. Your background should reflect an aptitude for managing complex operational processes efficiently while upholding rigorous standards of accuracy. In addition to technical proficiency with relevant systems (such as PMS or Bloomberg), your interpersonal strengths will enable you to build trust-based relationships across diverse teams.

• Hold a degree with at least 2-5 years of relevant experience in back or middle office operations within hedge funds, long-only funds, or service providers supporting these sectors.
• Demonstrate an analytical mindset with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively while maintaining high standards of accuracy under time constraints.
• Possess strong communication skills complemented by excellent interpersonal abilities that foster positive relationships with colleagues and external partners alike.
• Showcase experience or exposure to project management or process enhancement initiatives; prior involvement in automation projects would be advantageous but not essential.
• Display familiarity with portfolio management systems (PMS), Bloomberg terminals, or matching systems; practical knowledge is preferred but not mandatory for success in this role.
• Exhibit a collaborative spirit as a dependable team player who also demonstrates initiative when approaching new challenges or assignments.
• Maintain a positive attitude towards learning new concepts quickly while adapting flexibly to evolving business needs within the operations function.
