Role Overview

The IT Operations Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the plant’s Site Management System (SMS), including integration with plant and site SCADA platforms. The role initially focuses on system architecture, vendor coordination, and implementation prior to Commercial Operation Date (COD), before transitioning to long-term system management, data governance, and continuous digital improvement. The position bridges operational technology (OT), corporate IT, and business data systems to ensure reliable, secure, and scalable plant digital infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead development and implementation of the Site Management System (SMS), including database architecture, server infrastructure, and system integration with plant SCADA.
• Coordinate vendors and system providers to ensure successful deployment and integration of IT and automation systems before plant commissioning.
• Maintain and oversee plant digital systems post-COD, ensuring reliability of SCADA, operational databases, and asset tracking systems.
• Support data management and reporting across operations, commercial settlement, maintenance, and management functions.
• Ensure system reliability through backups, redundancy planning, troubleshooting, and disaster recovery measures.
• Support integration with electricity market systems and data exchange requirements.
• Assist in implementing IT governance, cybersecurity controls, and continuous system improvements.

Qualifications Required

• Degree or Diploma in information technology, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Automation, or related discipline. Or at least 5 - 6 years of experience in industrial network/server systems implementation and maintenance or related works.
• Experience in industrial IT systems, SCADA environments, or automation systems.
• Knowledge of industrial networks, databases, server infrastructure, and cybersecurity fundamentals.
• Experience coordinating system implementation with multiple vendors.

Preferred

• Experience in power plants, utilities, or heavy industrial environments.
• Familiarity with plant data systems, maintenance systems, or industrial databases.
• Experience integrating operational technology (OT) and corporate IT systems.
• Cybersecurity or industrial control system (ICS) security experience.
