About your role

As Insurance Manager, you will oversee the growth and direction of Carro Insurance, our growing insurance arm in Singapore. In this key role, you will assume responsibility for the strategic direction of the insurance business and guiding the department to reach its goals, while ensuring regulatory compliance and driving a high-performing and innovative culture. Reporting to the

Regional Director of Insurance, you will work closely with cross-functional leadership to align local execution with regional goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership to grow Carro's insurance business in Singapore across motor, lifestyle, and commercial segments.

• Develop and execute business plans, go-to-market strategies, and partnerships to expand product offerings and market share and deliver value to our customers.

• Ensure compliance with all MAS regulations and industry requirements, including oversight of insurance licensing and governance frameworks.

• Hire, lead and develop the Insurance team covering partnerships, operations, and customer service.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with insurers, brokers, regulators, automotive partners, and internal stakeholders.

• Oversee financial performance including revenue, profitability, cost controls, and

operational efficiency.

• Drive digital innovation in insurance offerings through data, AI, and seamless platform integration.

• Represent the insurance vertical in Singapore and work closely with regional leadership on reporting, strategic alignment, and performance management.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5-10 years of experience in the insurance industry, with at least 5 years of successful leadership experience.

• Proven track record in building and scaling insurance operations, ideally in motor/general insurance.

• Strong knowledge of Singapore insurance regulations and licensing requirements.

• Experience working with or within Insurtech, digital platforms, or automotive ecosystems is a plus.

• Basic Insurance Concept & Principles (BCP), Personal General Insurance (PGI), & Commercial General Insurance (ComGI) certification is preferable.

• Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and commercial negotiation skills.

• Analytical and data-driven decision-making approach.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing business needs.

• Based in Singapore with existing right to work.
