Job Description
The HR Advisor is responsible for managing and providing expert guidance in matters relating to employee relations, ensuring fair and consistent resolution of workplace issues while fostering a culture of positivity and engagement. The ideal candidate will possess a unique blend of analytical thinking, operational acumen, problem solving, critical thinking and interpersonal skills to navigate diverse challenges effectively.
Key Responsibilities
Employee Relations Management:
- Serve as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert to relevant stakeholders on a wide range of employee relations matters, including performance management, disciplinary actions, conflict resolution, and policy interpretation.
- Managing employee relations matters, including grievances, ethics violations, and policy breaches. Ensure that all processes are handled in a fair and timely manner, strictly adhering to company policies and local legal requirements.
- Partner with line managers to manage performance conversations. Provide coaching to managers to manage difficult conversations and set SMART goals.
- Conduct and ensure investigations are thorough, objective, timely, and well-documented, with appropriate recommendations for resolution included in the report.
- Communicate effectively on employee relations matters, providing clear and concise information to relevant stakeholders.
Service Delivery & Efficiency:
- Uphold high performance standards for efficient and effective HR advisory service delivery, tracking progress and outcomes.
- Develop reports and presentation decks based on case data analysis to identify trends, and share these insights with the HR leadership team and business stakeholders when required.
Stakeholder Management and Communication:
- Communicate effectively on employee relations matters, providing clear and concise information to relevant business stakeholders.
Requirements
Key Competencies / Skills
- Minimum 5 years of HR experience with a strong focus on employee relations.
- Demonstrated experience managing complex employee relations issues and investigations independently.
- Degree in Business, Human Resources, or a related field.
- Good knowledge of local employment legislations.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical, problem solving and negotiation skills.
- Excellent stakeholders’ management, conflict resolution, influencing and clear communication abilities.
- A resilient self-starter who thrives in fast-paced environments, with the ability to remain tactful in conflict situations, multitask and meet tight deadlines.
- Good proficiency in Google Workspace (e.g., Google Sheets, Slides etc) is essential.
