About Hydra X
Hydra X provides capital markets infrastructure supporting financial institutions participating in tokenised capital markets. Our technology and regulated services span custody, tokenisation, and digital exchange infrastructure, enabling institutions to bring regulated financial instruments onto modern digital rails.
We work with banks, exchanges, and financial institutions across Asia to design and operate next-generation market infrastructure that bridges traditional capital markets with emerging digital asset ecosystems.
Role Overview
Hydra X is seeking a Head of Operations to lead and scale its operational function across custody, tokenisation, and digital market infrastructure.
This role is responsible for ensuring that all operational processes are robust, scalable, and compliant, supporting both internal teams and institutional clients. The successful candidate will play a key role in building operational discipline, strengthening controls, and enabling the company to scale its services across multiple jurisdictions.
The role requires someone comfortable operating in a regulated financial environment, working closely with compliance, product, engineering, and client-facing teams.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership & Strategy
Define and implement the operational strategy across Hydra X’s core business lines, including custody operations, tokenisation workflows, and exchange-related processes.
Build scalable, repeatable operational processes to support business growth across multiple markets.
Establish clear operating models across teams, ensuring consistency and efficiency.
Custody & Transaction Operations
Oversee day-to-day custody operations, including asset movements, reconciliations, and operational controls.
Ensure operational integrity across transaction lifecycles, including issuance, trading support, and settlement processes.
Work closely with product and engineering teams to improve operational workflows and system design.
Process Design & Optimisation
Design and continuously improve workflows to reduce manual intervention and operational risk.
Introduce automation and tooling to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Identify bottlenecks and implement solutions to improve turnaround times and service quality.
Risk, Controls & Compliance
Establish and maintain strong operational controls aligned with regulatory requirements.
Work closely with compliance teams to ensure adherence to MAS and other regulatory frameworks.
Define and monitor key operational risk indicators and incident management processes.
Client Operations & Service Delivery
Oversee operational support for institutional clients, ensuring high service standards and timely issue resolution.
Collaborate with client solutions teams to ensure smooth onboarding and ongoing support.
Act as an escalation point for operational issues impacting clients.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with Product & Engineering to ensure operational requirements are embedded into system design.
Collaborate with Compliance, Legal, and Finance teams on operational processes and reporting.
Support business development efforts by providing operational input into new products and client solutions.
Team Leadership
Build and lead a high-performing operations team across jurisdictions.
Establish clear roles, responsibilities, and performance metrics.
Foster a culture of accountability, precision, and continuous improvement.
Experience
10–15+ years of experience in operations within financial services, capital markets, or fintech.
Strong experience in custody operations, exchange operations, or post-trade processes.
Experience operating in a regulated environment (e.g. MAS, exchanges, brokerages, custodians).
Proven track record of scaling operational functions in a growing organisation.
Experience working across multiple jurisdictions is advantageous.
Skills
Strong understanding of operational risk, controls, and regulatory requirements.
Experience designing and implementing scalable operational processes.
Ability to work closely with technology teams to improve systems and workflows.
Strong stakeholder management skills across internal teams and institutional clients.
