Job Summary
The Group Accountant / Finance Manager will be responsible for managing accounting, financial reporting, compliance, and finance operations for both the Group and a portfolio of outsourced clients. This role ensures the timely delivery of accurate financial information, supports strategic decision-making, maintains strong internal controls, and serves as a trusted advisor to clients on finance and accounting matters.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Consolidation
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for the Group and assigned clients.
- Perform consolidation of financial results across multiple subsidiaries and business entities.
- Ensure compliance with Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (SFRS), IFRS, and other applicable accounting standards.
- Prepare and analyse financial performance against budgets, forecasts, and key performance indicators.
- Develop management reports, board papers, and financial analysis to support decision-making.
Accounting & Finance Operations
- Lead and mentor finance and accounting team members.
- Oversee general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, fixed assets, and investment accounting functions.
- Ensure timely month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing processes.
- Manage intercompany transactions, reconciliations, and cash flow reporting.
- Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation.
- Review and enhance accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
Tax & Regulatory Compliance
- Coordinate corporate tax filings and tax planning initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with GST, withholding tax, statutory filings, and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor developments in accounting standards, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
Client Delivery & Relationship Management
- Act as the primary finance contact for a portfolio of outsourced accounting and finance clients.
- Review management accounts, financial statements, and other client deliverables prepared by the team.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to support clients' business objectives and growth plans.
- Coordinate with clients, auditors, tax agents, company secretaries, regulators, and other stakeholders.
- Manage client expectations and resolve accounting, reporting, and compliance matters effectively.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships to ensure client satisfaction and retention.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma, Degree in Accountancy, ACCA, or equivalent professional qualification.
- Minimum 4 years of relevant accounting and finance experience.
- Strong experience in preparing full sets of accounts, GST reporting, payroll processing, and financial reporting.
- Experience managing multiple entities and group accounting structures will be an advantage.
Preferred Qualifications & Competencies
- Prior experience in a Singapore CPA firm, accounting outsourcing/business services environment, or audit firm.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and accounting software.
- Familiarity with AI and automation tools to improve productivity and service delivery.
- Strong initiative, attention to detail, and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in both English and Mandarin is preferred, as the role involves liaising with Mandarin-speaking clients and business partners.
- Comfortable working in a hybrid or remote work environment.
