Job Summary

Lead Armour Publishing’s strategic publishing, operations, sales, marketing, finance, and HR functions to drive quality content, market expansion, operational efficiency, and sustainable growth.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute publishing plans that achieve strategic business goals focused on quality and profitability
  • Guide editorial team to acquire, develop, and publish market-relevant content aligned with company values
  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with authors, illustrators, clients, partners, and stakeholders
  • Identify and secure new partnerships and business opportunities for custom publishing and market expansion locally and regionally
  • Monitor publishing technology trends and implement innovative tools to enhance operations and audience reach
  • Represent the company at literacy and publishing events to raise profile and expand industry networks
  • Oversee daily operations and administrative processes to ensure company-wide efficiency
  • Direct and supervise staff performance and operational activities to meet company objectives
  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements related to publishing, copyrights, and intellectual property
  • Develop contingency and crisis management plans to address unexpected business challenges
  • Review and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across all company processes
  • Manage distribution channels for print and digital products to ensure timely, cost-effective delivery
  • Lead marketing team to design and implement sales and marketing strategies targeting key audiences
  • Cultivate strong relationships with customers, distributors, booksellers, and industry partners to enhance market presence
  • Analyze industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities to inform business decisions
  • Explore and develop new market opportunities including international markets, digital platforms, and emerging formats
  • Collaborate with Finance to maintain accurate financial records, audited accounts, budgets, cash flow, and performance tracking
  • Review and approve payments and claims to ensure financial control
  • Monitor financial performance and make decisions to support sustainable company growth
  • Prepare and present regular performance and financial reports to executive team and shareholders
  • Develop investment presentations for fundraising to existing and potential investors as needed
  • Recruit, train, and develop staff to build a high-performance, collaborative team culture
  • Manage staff administration including leave approvals and annual appraisals
