Duties and Responsibilities

Assist Staff Nurse (SN) in delivering nursing care to the residents and maintaining a safe and clean environment in the nursing home.

Care Delivery

• Provide quality nursing care with compliance to approved standards of nursing practices.
• Assist SN in new admission assessment and orientation.
• Carry out nursing rounds with the SN.
• Assist SN in ensuring residents take their medicines.
• Initiate activities as first responder at emergency situations; alerts and supports the SN.
• Organize and send residents for appropriate therapy as prescribed.
• Coordinate residents’ medical check-ups & arrange transport.
• Maintain accurate documentation of care given.

Supervisory Duties

Supervise junior care staff to:

• Ensure comfort and good personal hygiene of the residents under his/her care.
• Check, monitor and record residents’ vital signs.
• Assist in the transferring and positioning of non-ambulant residents.
• Assist in serving diets and feeding residents.

Other Duty

• Carry out any other duties as assigned by the SN or Nurse Manager.

Requirements

• Shift work including night shift, Public Holiday and weekend
• Enrolled with Singapore Nursing Board
• ITE Certificate in Nursing
• Diploma / Degree in Nursing (foreign trained)
