Department Manager – Painting & Packing

Overview

A well-established manufacturing organization in Singapore is seeking an experienced Department Manager – Painting & Packing to oversee production operations within the finishing and packing functions.

This role will be responsible for ensuring operational efficiency, maintaining product quality standards, and leading a team to meet production targets. The successful candidate will also ensure that operational processes comply with relevant quality and ISO standards while driving continuous improvement initiatives across the department.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily operations within the painting and packing departments to ensure production targets, efficiency levels, and quality standards are consistently achieved.

• Lead, mentor, and supervise production teams to maintain a safe, productive, and high-performance work environment.

• Monitor and optimise production processes to improve workflow, reduce waste, and enhance operational efficiency.

• Ensure manufacturing activities comply with ISO quality management systems and internal quality procedures.

• Oversee documentation and maintenance of quality systems, records, and operational processes.

• Coordinate with cross-functional teams including production planning, quality assurance, and logistics to ensure smooth manufacturing operations.

• Manage departmental budgets, manpower planning, and resource allocation.

• Identify opportunities for operational improvements and implement initiatives that enhance productivity and product quality.

• Maintain effective communication with internal stakeholders, vendors, and customers where necessary.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related discipline.

• Proven experience in a managerial role within a manufacturing or production environment.

• Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, quality management systems, and production planning.

• Experience managing teams and driving operational performance.

• Familiarity with ISO standards and quality documentation processes.

• Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.

• Proficient in standard business and manufacturing systems/tools.
