Creative Director (Advertising)
Key Responsibilities
1. Production Leadership & Strategy
• Own the overall production vision and roadmap for the agency’s social and digital content.
• Translate creative ideas and strategies into clear, executable production plans.
• Establish scalable production frameworks for high-output social content (TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Shorts, livestreams).
• Partner with Creative, Strategy, and Client Services to align production with business and brand objectives.
2. Team Management & Development
• Lead and mentor a team of Producers, Assistant Producers, Production Assistants, and Freelancers.
• Set performance standards, KPIs, and clear career progression paths for the production team.
• Build a culture of ownership, accountability, speed, and creative excellence.
• Oversee hiring, onboarding, and resourcing for production needs.
3. End-to-End Production Oversight
• Oversee pre-production, production, and post-production across all projects.
• Ensure timelines, budgets, and deliverables are met without compromising quality.
• Manage shoot planning, crew coordination, talent scheduling, equipment, and locations.
• Anticipate and resolve production challenges quickly and calmly.
4. Operational Excellence & Workflow Optimisation
• Design and refine production workflows, SOPs, and templates to increase efficiency.
• Implement tools and systems for project tracking, asset management, and approvals.
• Optimise turnaround time for fast-paced social content while maintaining consistency.
• Ensure compliance with legal, licensing, platform, and brand safety requirements.
5. Budgeting & Commercial Management
• Own production budgeting, cost controls, and vendor negotiations.
• Balance creative ambition with commercial realities to ensure profitable delivery.
• Provide production input during pitches, proposals, and retainer scoping.
• Track production margins and continuously improve cost efficiency.
6. Client & Stakeholder Management
• Act as the senior production point-of-contact for key clients and partners.
• Present production approaches, timelines, and feasibility during pitches and meetings.
• Manage expectations and ensure smooth communication throughout project lifecycles.
• Support long-term client retention through reliable delivery and strategic input.
7. Innovation & Industry Awareness
• Stay ahead of social trends, platform changes, and production innovations.
• Experiment with new formats, tools, and workflows (AI, virtual production, livestreaming).
• Elevate the agency’s production reputation and creative output over time.
