Job Description

Site Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing the construction site and ensuring that projects run smoothly. Here’s a detailed list of responsibilities and duties for a Site Manager in Singapore:

  1. Project Coordination:Coordinate with project managers, engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure the project is progressing according to plan.
    Schedule and supervise daily construction activities and manage subcontractors.
  2. Site Supervision:Oversee and monitor work on-site to ensure it meets quality standards and follows safety regulations.
    Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with construction drawings and specifications.
  3. Safety Management:Ensure that all safety procedures and regulations are adhered to on-site, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
    Conduct safety meetings and provide safety training to workers.
  4. Quality Control:Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure work is carried out to the required standards.
    Address and resolve any quality issues or defects promptly.
  5. Resource Management:Manage and allocate resources efficiently, including materials, equipment, and labor.
    Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials.
  6. Documentation and Reporting:Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of daily activities, including work progress, incidents, and any deviations from the plan.
    Prepare and submit progress reports to project managers and other relevant parties.
  7. Compliance:Ensure that all work complies with local regulations, building codes, and environmental laws in Singapore.
    Obtain necessary permits and approvals for construction activities.
  8. Problem-Solving:Identify and address any issues or delays that arise on-site, implementing solutions to keep the project on track.
    Resolve conflicts between workers or between workers and management.
  9. Client and Stakeholder Communication:Liaise with clients, architects, and other stakeholders to address any concerns or changes in project scope.
    Ensure that client requirements and expectations are met.
  10. Training and Development:Train and mentor junior site staff and ensure they are aware of safety practices and construction procedures.
    Promote a positive working environment and encourage teamwork among site personnel.
  11. Site Managers must also be familiar with local regulations such as those enforced by the Building and Construction Authority (BCA) and the Workplace Safety and Health Council (WSHC).
