Responsibilities:

  • As Porter, you will be the brand ambassador of Sofitel Singapore Sentosa Resort & Spa. You are responsible for offering excellent customer service, options, and other solutions to meet guest needs. Specifically, a Porter will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
  • Show attention to detail in all tasks performed
  • Perform any other related duties as directed by the Assistant Chef Concierge/ Chef Concierge
  • Maintain and update a log of all errand runs and luggage stored
  • Organise the sorting and distribution of all hotel and guest mail, parcels and messages
  • Ensure all daily checklists are completed and handovers thorough.
  • Ensure that the trolleys used by the Concierge section are clean and shining at all times.
  • Ensure that the outside area in front of the hotel is kept clear at any time.
  • Inspect on a regular basis the store rooms to ensure that stored items are properly recorded and that the store rooms are kept clean & tidy.
  • Keep up to date information for all hotel services, promotions, outlet opening times.
  • Keep up to date information for places to see, go and dine in the city of Singapore
  • Promote Le Club, Advantage Plus and in-house promotions
  • Practice and present a positive attitude at all times.
  • Assist in achieving on-going improvements in the quality of service delivered to both external and internal customers.
  • Ensure fast, effective and friendly service is provided to internal and external guests at all times.
  • Ensure all guests receive a friendly and courteous welcome.
  • Ensure you are immaculately groomed at all times adhering to Sofitel Singapore Sentosa grooming standards.
  • Work honestly, ethically and with respect to team members’ diverse backgrounds’.
  • Carry out tasks as instructed by members of the management team.
  • Continually apply and develop the specific technical knowledge and job skills/requirements needed for effective job performance (including attending compulsory training sessions).
  • Accept and welcome feedback on performance with the attitude to take action where necessary.
  • Be flexible and adapt to change where required.
  • Ensure all guests are welcomed warmly upon arrival (Car door opening, hotel door opening, Luggage taken immediately & guiding the guest through the required direction).
  • Privacy: The Concierge will be attentive to the privacy/confidentiality of information and/or guest names available. He/she will ensure not to transmit any guest name, or guest history information.
  • Treat guests and ambassadors from all cultural groups with respect, sensitivity and transparency.
  • Any other ad-hoc duties that may be assigned by the Management from time-to-time.

  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Flexibility to respond to a range of different work situations
  • Multi-lingual is a plus


To be successful in this sought after role, you will demonstrate the ability to excel within a luxury brand.

You will also bring with you a passion for service, excellent organisational skills as well as communication skills, be results orientated with a dedication to exceeding customer expectations.

Previous experience in a five-star environment is desirable, and above all else, pride yourself on ability to build relationships and guest experiences epitomising French elegance, style and sophistication.
