Job Summary

You will lead the management and enhancement of compliance programs within a dynamic energy sector organisation, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies. This role drives improvements in risk management and internal controls while providing strategic compliance advice and conducting investigations to safeguard business integrity.

Responsibilities

• Lead the management and continuous improvement of the compliance program to mitigate compliance risks effectively.
• Monitor key compliance activities and deliver regular reports on compliance status and risk mitigation actions to stakeholders.
• Maintain and update compliance process manuals to reflect current regulatory and internal policy requirements.
• Provide strategic advice on business activities by interpreting current and upcoming regulatory developments and assessing their impact on operations.
• Conduct thorough internal investigations into compliance issues, prepare detailed reports, and recommend actionable solutions to management.
• Prepare and submit comprehensive compliance reports on a monthly, quarterly, or ad-hoc basis to internal and external stakeholders.
• Collaborate in the development and enhancement of internal control policies to strengthen organisational risk management.
• Review and assess internal control practices across departments, proposing improvements to enhance compliance effectiveness.
• Support internal and external audit processes by supplying required documentation and information promptly.
• Regularly communicate progress and highlight key risk areas to senior management to inform decision-making.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support the compliance function and organisational objectives.

Required competencies and certifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Law or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience managing compliance functions within the oil & gas or related sectors.
• Demonstrated expertise in risk and post-transaction monitoring and analysis.
• In-depth knowledge of international sanctions and trade embargoes.
• Proficiency in anti-bribery and corruption compliance frameworks.
• Experience with data privacy and protection regulations.
• Skilled in anti-money laundering (AML) and know your customer (KYC) program implementation.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word for compliance documentation and reporting.
• Strong communication skills to articulate compliance issues and solutions clearly to diverse stakeholders.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills applied to identify compliance risks and develop effective mitigation strategies.
• Ability to collaborate effectively as a team player across multiple departments.
