About SL2 Impact
SL2 Impact Ltd (SL2) - https://sl2impact.org/, works directly with communities who are experiencing social, economic or environmental sustainability challenges. We spend time understanding the context behind local challenges and work with relevant public, private and people sector stakeholders to find the appropriate leverage points to effect systems change.
Overview
Repair Kopitiam (https://repairkopitiam.sg/) started as an initiative of Sustainable Living Lab in 2014 with the intention of tackling the buy-and-throw-away culture in Singapore. Through Repair Kopitiam, we share our repair skills with the public so that they can give their items a second lease of life. Over the years, the program has transformed into a platform to tackle electronic waste (e-waste) as well as to engage with seniors, with a strong focus on active ageing. With the introduction of the Resource Sustainability Act in 2019 and the Singapore Green Plan in 2021, the issue of e-waste has grown in importance. As such, we are embarking on an expansion of our programs to more communities around Singapore and would like to have you onboard with us on this journey.
About This Role
This role is based in our Singapore lab and will sit within the Community Innovation Team, which leads all our direct community engagement activities. Our aim is to improve community resilience and build support for sustainability initiatives. You will be involved with the team to expand various community programs with the team such as the Repair Kopitiam program to multiple locations in Singapore and will have to work closely with local communities to successfully:
Volunteer Management
- Assist/Handle the registration of New Volunteers
- Recruit and organize the training of volunteers to become repair coaches
- Onboard, train and deploy volunteers effectively to our program venues
- Translate and ensure that the core principles of our programs are maintained in each location
- Assist/Handle schedule management of manpower resources at various program venues
Program Venue Management
- Oversee the logistics for each location
- Coordinate with venue organizers
- Prepare venue resources for the monthly event
- Manage customer and client queries
- Collect data for impact measurement at each location
- Prepare and execute new venue set-ups
Administrative Tasks
- Co-managing the content on company websites
- Customer queries management through voice calls, text messages, emails and Facebook messages (other social media included)
- Communicating with different stakeholders for various events/workshops
- Assist and manage ad-hoc community events set-up, hosting, execution
- Preparation of simple marketing collaterals for events and programs
- Other ad-hoc tasks
Requirements
- Minimum ITE in any discipline (Engineering, Social Work or related field will be an added advantage).
- Teamwork within the team and across departments
- Effective time and stress management
- Multi-tasking in a fast-paced working environment
- Able to work on weekends
Work Hours
- 5-days a week from Tuesdays to Fridays, and at least 1 weekend either Saturday or Sunday.
