ABOUT THE ROLE
To develop strategies and programs that would seek to improve the lives of Seniors and needy families staying around our church vicinity. Reach out and work with existing and new partners to carry out programs that meet the ministry’s vision and mission. Execute these programs at both Campus areas in partnership with the respective campus teams. Oversee the Grace Community Outreach’s Volunteer Management. This role will contribute to shaping a cohesive ecosystem where church, community, and volunteerism work in synergy.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Conceptualize, plan, and develop comprehensive community engagement strategies and action plans aligned with the church's mission and objectives to engage needy families and seniors of our congregation and residents living around our campuses.
- Conduct needs assessments, landscape mapping, and asset-based community development to identify community strengths, needs, and opportunities for engagement.
- Develop and execute programs that could help change the lives of needy families in areas such as helping them to learn a livelihood skill.
- Cultivate and maintain strong, positive relationships with diverse community stakeholders, including various church ministries, residents, grassroots organisations, community leaders, government agencies, schools, social service agencies, corporate partners, and volunteers.
- Design, organize, and execute a variety of community engagement activities, programs, and events (e.g., workshops, forums, outreach campaigns, dialogues, volunteer activities).
- Facilitate discussions, workshops, and focus groups to gather insights, foster collaboration, and encourage community participation.
- Manage and coordinate logistics for all community engagement events and activities.
- Enhance and oversee the volunteer management system. This includes helping people discover their desire to serve, developing them in their serving skills, and deploying them into various volunteer roles they are suitable for, in collaboration with the campus team.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of community engagement efforts and improvise accordingly.
- Ensure data integrity and provide regular timely reports and updates to the leadership team.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and processes.

COMPETENCIES
- Education: Minimum polytechnic education. Preferably in the areas of Social Work, Community Development, Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in community engagement, social work, public relations, project management, or a similar role.
- Skills & Competencies:
- Excellent Communication: Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate messages clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences.
- Interpersonal and Relationship Building: Exceptional ability to build rapport, establish trust, and maintain positive relationships with people from all walks of life.
- Empathy and Cultural Sensitivity: Deep understanding and appreciation of diverse community needs, cultures, and perspectives in Singapore.
- Project Management and Organisation: Proven ability to plan, execute, and manage multiple projects simultaneously, on time and within budget. Equipped with good organisation and administrative skills.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify community issues and develop effective solutions.
- Teamwork and Collaboration: A strong team player who can work effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Digital Literacy: Familiarity with social media platforms, communication tools, and data management systems.
- Culture and Language: Able to connect with and support people having different cultural and language backgrounds.
- Understanding of social service landscape in Singapore, relevant policies, and ethical considerations in community work.
