Job Description
The Opportunity:
Adecco is partnering with an established marine logistics group, and we are looking for a Commercial Executive to join their business permanently! Reporting to the commercial function, the successful incumbent will support tendering, costing, commercial evaluation, and contract coordination activities, working closely with clients, brokers, technical teams, and suppliers to deliver competitive bids, structured cost models, and effective project execution.
Role Details
- Employment Type: Permanent, Full-time
- Location: East region
- Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 9.00am to 6.00pm (staggered hours available)
The Job:
- Support business development and opportunity sourcing through liaison with clients and brokers.
- Manage tender and enquiry processing, including technical review and structured costing preparation.
- Issue RFQs/RFPs to equipment and material vendors and coordinate technical/commercial clarifications.
- Review vendor quotations for specification compliance and pricing competitiveness.
- Build project cost structures, including forex, labour, material, and logistics components.
- Prepare commercial cost sheets for internal review, approval, and timely submission.
- Identify critical systems/items and support basic commercial risk assessment.
- Coordinate tender documentation across internal stakeholders to ensure compliant and on-time submissions.
- Support contract discussions, negotiations, and procurement contracting activities.
- Manage equipment contracts, delivery schedules, and milestone-based payment tracking.
- Support project contract management, including budget tracking, milestone invoicing, guarantees, and controls.
- Maintain strong working relationships with clients, brokers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
- Support post-project reviews and commercial performance analysis.
The Talent:
- Diploma or Degree in Business, Engineering, or related discipline.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in the marine, shipbuilding, offshore, or maritime industry.
- Proven experience in tendering, costing, and commercial proposal development, with strong numerical accuracy and commercial judgement.
- Ability to build structured costing models from technical specs/drawings, with a sound understanding of marine equipment, systems, and materials.
- Experience supporting contracts, procurement/commercial documentation, and stakeholder coordination.
- Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and project-based tools; knowledge of legal terms and marine insurance is a plus.
- Comfortable with shipyard visits in Indonesia and overseas travel as required.
- Role requires handling and reviewing legal and commercial documents in Traditional Chinese from Taiwan.
