Job Summary

The Chief Trade Officer (CTO) leads ESL’s global trade portfolio with full P&L accountability, driving strategic growth, portfolio optimization, and modernization initiatives to enhance competitiveness and profitability. This executive role partners with senior leadership to align commercial strategy and operational capacity.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end P&L management across all trade corridors and services to ensure sustained financial performance
• Develop and enforce pricing strategies and yield management practices to drive margin improvement and disciplined commercial execution
• Collaborate with the CEO and Head of Network to strategically allocate capacity and optimize the trade portfolio for enhanced returns and resilience
• Identify, evaluate, and execute new trade opportunities, partnerships, and growth platforms by translating strategic concepts into actionable business cases and operational plans
• Modernize the Trade function by implementing data-driven, analytical, and scalable processes, systems, and scenario planning to reduce manual and reactive practices
• Build and lead a high-performing trade organization by exercising full hiring and performance management authority
• Drive enterprise leadership by introducing innovative ideas, challenging existing practices, and accelerating company-wide progress
• Contribute to the development and execution of enterprise-wide strategy and performance initiatives

• Achieve improved structural profitability and portfolio resilience
• Establish clear pricing discipline and optimize capacity deployment
• Successfully execute at least one impactful growth initiative annually
• Develop a modern, high-performing Trade function that operates with minimal CEO intervention
• Influence enterprise strategy by providing new perspectives that challenge the CEO and leadership team
