Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Assistant QC Manager to support our quality assurance operations in a high-precision manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of dimensional inspection using CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) and be capable of developing CMM programs to inspect machined components to tight tolerances.
Key Responsibilities:
- CMM Operation & Programming: Operate and write programs for CMM machines to inspect and verify dimensional accuracy of machined components as per engineering drawings and specifications.
- Inspection & Measurement: Perform first article, in-process, and final inspection of precision-engineered parts using CMM and other precision instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers, height gauges).
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate inspection records, prepare dimensional inspection reports, and document non-conformance reports (NCRs).
- Quality Systems Compliance: Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and other relevant quality standards, and assist in audits (internal and external).
- Calibration & Equipment Maintenance: Oversee the calibration schedule of inspection instruments and ensure measuring equipment is well-maintained and functioning accurately.
- Training & Supervision: Support and train QC inspectors on inspection techniques, CMM usage, and quality procedures.
- Root Cause Analysis: Assist in investigating quality issues, conducting root cause analysis (RCA), and implementing corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
- Collaboration with Production: Work closely with production and engineering teams to address quality concerns, improve processes, and ensure high product quality.
Job Requirements:
- Education: Diploma in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum 5–8 years of experience in a precision engineering or machining environment, with at least 4 years in a quality control supervisory role.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in operating and programming CMM machines a must. (e.g., Mitutoyo, Wenza, Hexagon) using software like PC-DMIS.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of GD&T prefered, engineering drawings, and tight-tolerance machining.
- Communication: Good written and verbal communication skills; ability to write clear inspection reports and coordinate with cross-functional teams.
