Job Description
Purpose Statement:
Assist in overseeing finance
department staff. Support the Group Finance Manager in delivering accurate and
timely financial reporting, strengthening internal controls and ensuring
high-quality financial operations across assigned entities. Review the accounts
of assigned entities to ensure appropriate financial processes and controls are
in place. Additionally, perform other finance tasks, including reconciliations,
recoverable schedules and related reporting matters.
Position Interfaces:
· Work closely with global finance teams
· IT or ERP/PBI support teams
· Customer support team on orders and related billings
· Billing team on billing/invoicing
· Customers and salespeople on invoices and payments
· Suppliers/Vendors on invoices and payments
· Tax agents / corporate secretarial partners
· Auditors (external) for year-end audits
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Operations
- Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes
- Prepare and post journal entries accurately and in a timely manner
- Maintain data integrity in the finance system (e.g. vendor bank details)
- Verify weekly and ad-hoc payments
- Review and process employee expense claims
- Monitor and review the issuance of Debit Notes and Credit Notes
2. Financial Reporting
- Review balance sheet schedules and account reconciliations
- Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports
- Reconcile claim recovery against PBI reporting
- Prepare XBRL filings for annual returns
3. Audit & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (e.g. FRS 116)
- Liaise with auditors and provide support during year-end audits
4. Claims & Recovery
- Oversee claims handling, including proper recording of sales returns and related expenses
- Ensure timely and accurate recovery of claims from suppliers
5. Systems & Process Improvement
- Assist in process enhancements and development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Skills and Qualifications:
Knowledge
- Good knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and corporate governance
- Understanding of IFRS, FRS, Companies Act, Tax and other regulatory requirements
- Good knowledge of finance, budgeting, cost control and cash management
- Exposure to international accounting and tax
- Basic knowledge f Trade Finance and Letter of Credit processes.
Technical/ Work-based skills
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism and confidentiality
- Strong technical accounting knowledge
- Proficient in computer software skills, including Excel and other accounting packages
- Willingness to coach and educate
- Meticulous, responsible & reliable in execution
- Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central will be an added advantage
- PBI knowledge

Qualifications
- Possess at least an ACCA or Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accountancy or equivalent
- Chartered Accountant of Singapore
