Job Summary

We are seeking a hands-on and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to support our Finance Department in managing the organisations’ accounting and financial operations. The ideal candidate is independent, meticulous, and capable of handling full sets of accounts in a dynamic service environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle full sets of accounts including Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), General Ledger (GL), and bank reconciliations.
  • Manage day-to-day accounting operations and ensure accurate and timely recording of business transactions.
  • Perform monthly and year-end closing, including preparation of journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
  • Prepare financial reports and schedules for management review.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and statutory requirements.
  • Prepare sales invoices, monitor collections, and manage accounts receivable aging.
  • Process vendor invoices, payment runs, and staff reimbursement claims in a timely manner.
  • Prepare and submit GST returns and related schedules.
  • Process general ledger entries with ensure transactions are properly supported by relevant documentation (e.g., invoices, receipts, payment vouchers, journals).
  • Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, and relevant authorities on audit, tax, and statutory matters.
  • Support finance and administrative functions.
  • Assist in ad-hoc assignments/projects/duties as assigned by superiors.

Requirements

  • Minimum Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a relevant discipline.
  • Able to perform full set of accounts independently.
  • Able to process documentation in both English and Mandarin to communicate effectively with English- and Mandarin-speaking stakeholders.
  • Familiar with accounting systems such as AutoCount.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail, meticulous, and a team player with the ability to communicate efficiently and effectively at all levels.
  • Familiar with Singapore accounting standards, GST regulations, and statutory compliance requirements.
